How much does snow plowing cost per visit?

Updated 2026-11-03. Prices are typical published ranges, not quotes. DrivewayBlankets.com doesn't plow; how it works.

The short answer: published national ranges put residential driveway plowing at roughly $40–$100 per visit (Angi) or $30–$70 (HomeGuide). Those two sources disagree a little, which is normal. Each one summarizes different jobs, in different years and places. Read every number on this page as a typical range, not a quote. The provider who looks at your driveway sets the real price.

Price by billing method

Plow operators bill in a few different ways, and the per-visit number only makes sense next to the others:

Billing methodAngiHomeGuide
Per push / visit$40–$100$30–$70
Per storm (event)$75–$200$30–$100
Per hour$25–$75$25–$75
Seasonal contract$300–$700$200–$600

Sources: Angi, national snow removal cost (2026); HomeGuide, Snow removal cost (updated Dec 17, 2024). Thumbtack puts a typical snow plow job at $90–$212.

Per push means one trip to clear the driveway. Per event means a price for the whole storm, which may include more than one trip if the snow keeps falling. Hourly pricing is more common for big or odd-shaped properties. Seasonal is one flat price for the winter. Some seasonal contracts are unlimited and some cap the visits, so read the terms. We compare these in seasonal contract vs. per push.

Price by driveway size

Size is the biggest driver for most homeowners. Angi's national ranges by size are below, and our city pages show local Angi ranges where Angi publishes them.

DrivewayPer visitSeasonal
1-car (single)$40–$75$300–$400
2-car (standard)$75–$125$400–$600
3- to 4-car / large$125–$250$600–$1,000

What pushes a price up or down

How to estimate your own cost

  1. Figure out your size: how many cars wide, and roughly how long.
  2. Find your normal snowfall. Our city pages list the NOAA 1991–2020 normal and last winter's total for 15 metros and about 145 nearby towns.
  3. Divide snowfall by the depth that triggers a visit. We assume 4 inches, but use your contract's number if you have one. That gives a rough number of pushes.
  4. Multiply pushes by the per-push price, and compare that total with a seasonal price.

The calculator does this math for you, and every city page has the same calculator set to local snowfall. For example, a 2-car driveway in a 50-inch winter at 4 inches per push is about 12 to 13 pushes. At $75–$125 each, that adds up to more than the $400–$600 seasonal range, which is why seasonal contracts are popular in snowy places.

Why we show ranges instead of a single price

Nobody can give you an exact number without seeing your driveway. Published averages hide a lot of variation: a short, flat, single-car driveway and a 200-foot gravel lane both count as "a driveway." We show the published range, label it as an estimate, and the provider who follows up on your request confirms the actual price before doing any work. You can say no.

Get your number: see an instant price for your area, then send one request. It's free, and we don't plow; a local provider confirms the price.
